This. Cover. Talk about GORGEOUS. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a phoenix or not but the artist did a phenomenal job catching my eye (and my money). I don’t even know if I have anything else to say. Just look at it! It’s beautiful! What covers are you swooning over this week?
Did you beware the goblin men? Or did you fall under the spell of the Goblin King himself? Wintersong is a magical song of a story, woven with lyrical prose and a simmering romance that will make you swoon. Drawing inspiration from the movie Labyrinth, this new YA fantasy will have you composing to your own Goblin King. When I first went to read this […]
Illuminae is like a venus fly trap and I am the fly. It acts all innocent and harmless until, before you know it, it has you in its clutches and won’t let go. I struggled a lot in the beginning to grasp what everyone was talking about when they said it was so amazing. I got through the first 100 pages and didn’t really *feel* […]
Imagine if Captain Jack Sparrow was a teenage girl. Just picture it. Because you will find yourself with Captain Alosa, daughter of the fearsome pirate king. Reckless, clever, and determined, she’s going to blow you out of the open water in Daughter of the Pirate King. This book was so much fun! I honestly thought that having a teenage pirate captain wasn’t going to go so well […]
Friday 5@5 is a weekly feature hosted here on NovelKnight to wrap up the week with a fun (and short) list because we know y’all want to get on with your weekends! This Week’s Prompt: Books with Animals on the Cover I mean, y’all know I love animals, right? Considering I spent 4 years studying them for a degree that is kind of useful now […]
I have to say, this is the first time I’ve read a romance where the main characters were already married before the book began. Typically all these romances end in marriage so it was interesting to see Everett tackle the during-marriage aspect of this estranged couple. Johnny Alexander comes back from a top secret mission to find his wife left him. Bummer, right? I mean, […]
The promise of dragons. Do I really need to say anything more? But in all seriousness, this book has magic and a UNIVERSITY (okay, I’m just a sucker for any type of school system in a fantasy world) and sounds absobloodylutely amazing! Trust me when I say I’ve been craving this book since I heard about it, and you DEFINITELY want it on your TBR! […]
Damn, Shaila Patel just jumped the list to have the #1 gut-wrenching, emotional roller coaster of a book for the month. Just… wow. Soulmated was the burning, torturous romance I hoped it would be but became so much more. Liam is an empath and a royal one at that. He’s back in the States in search of The One. His soulmate. Meanwhile, Laxshmi is just trying […]
What? I’m reviewing a contemporary novel? This is craziness right here. But I have to say that while this genre isn’t my usual cup of tea, I found Somebody Like You to be quite an enjoyable read. This book spoke to my own small-town background and some of the moments I imagined happening where I live in all too vivid detail. This is my first read of […]
Today we’re wishing a happy book birthday to The Odds of You and Me by Cecilia Galante! To celebrate I’m excited to share with you a short Q & A with the author! Q & A Did you learn anything new or surprising while writing your latest book? I did, actually. The most obvious were all the strange facts I researched for James’ Curious Facts and […]
I honestly love the UK versions of Three Dark Crowns! There are so many people who like the US versions for different books, but this time the UK definitely got it right! My favorite is the Naturalist cover. I love the red undertone in the background and the crown is just so elegant. Plus I feel like if I were to be in this world, […]
Rumor Mora fears two things: hellhounds too strong for him to kill, and failure. Jude Welton has two dreams: for humans to stop killing monsters, and for his strange abilities to vanish. But in no reality should a boy raised to love monsters fall for a boy raised to kill them. Nyx Llorca keeps two secrets: the moon speaks to her, and she’s in love with Dahlia, her best friend. Braeden Tennant wants two things: to get out from his mother’s shadow, and to unlearn Epsilon’s darkest secret.
I went into this book not expecting much. I didn’t really like Oliver’s Before I Fall book so I wasn’t sure how I was going to like Rooms. I only picked it up because it was a signed first edition in the bargain section at my work and I thought for $4 that was a pretty great deal. But to my surprise, I really loved […]
It’s hard writing about the end of a series. There is so much that went into these books that it’s hard to talk about in a review, especially with avoiding as many spoilers as possible. I also had a lot of built-up expectations going into this final chapter in the story of Vhalla, especially after the events of Water’s Wrath. So as a conclusion to this […]
