ABOUT THE BOOK
Kappa Rho Nu isn’t your average sorority. Their parties are notorious. Their fundraisers are known for being Westerly College’s most elaborate affairs. But beneath the veil of Greek life and prestige, the sisters of Kappu Rho Nu share a secret: they’re a coven of witches. For Vivi Deveraux, being one of Kappa Rho Nu’s Ravens means getting a chance to redefine herself. For Scarlett Winters, a bonafide Raven and daughter of a legacy Raven, pledge this year means living up to her mother’s impossible expectations of becoming Kappa Rho Nu’s next president. Scarlett knows she’d be the perfect candidate — that is, if she didn’t have one human-sized skeleton in her closet…. When Vivi and Scarlett are paired as big and little for initiation, they find themselves sinking into the sinister world of blood oaths and betrayals.

Happiest of Fridays, book lovers! This week Happiest of Fridays, book lovers!

This week has been an emotional roller coaster but the weekend is nearly upon us and, I don't know about you, but I definitely need some R & R time.

But with everything going on, I also haven't really been reading so... nothing new for you 😅 but please have another stack of book recommendations in the meantime! Yes, I recommend checking out all of these books, and they're either standalones or first in their respective series so you can dive right in!

While I'm sure some of you are tired of election news, I've been watching live streams during most waking hours the last few days and feeling tentatively optimistic with how the counts have gone today (because THAT'S HOW WE DO IT PENNSYLVANIA 🙌). But if you're starting to feel the burnout, step away and take a break. We're not done yet and this is far from official.

Please enjoy your Fridays however you see fit and have a good weekend!

It's Thursday and I think this is the most exhaust It's Thursday and I think this is the most exhausted I've been all year.

I'm sorry I don't really have any new books to talk about with you today, my head's just not in the right space for it. So instead, I have another book for you from my TBR that I can't wait to get to.

THE RAGE OF DRAGONS by Evan Winter is the first in The Burning series and came out last year. I've heard it described as GAME OF THRONES meets GLADIATOR which, okay, "Dragon" is already in the title and then you give me that comp? SOLD!

Why mention this book?? Well... the sequel, THE FIRES OF VENGEANCE hits shelves next Tuesday! So it's the perfect time to grab book 1 (which I believe is ALSO currently on sale on eBook so *wink wink* *nudge nudge*). A perfect escape from the world this weekend, then you can grab book 2 on November 10!

THE RAGE OF DRAGONS is the #ThrowbackThursdayBook of the Week so make sure to check it out, as well as the upcoming sequel! Synopsis below!

.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Omehi people have been fighting an unwinnable fight for almost two hundred years. Their society has been built around war and only war. The lucky ones are born gifted. One in every two thousand women has the power to call down dragons. One in every hundred men is able to magically transform himself into a bigger, stronger, faster killing machine.

Everyone else is fodder, destined to fight and die in the endless war. Young, gift-less Tau knows all this, but he has a plan of escape. He's going to get himself injured, get out early, and settle down to marriage, children, and land. Only, he doesn't get the chance. Those closest to him are brutally murdered, and his grief swiftly turns to anger. Fixated on revenge, Tau dedicates himself to an unthinkable path. He'll become the greatest swordsman to ever live, a man willing to die a hundred thousand times for the chance to kill the three who betrayed him.

On Wednesday we take a deep breath and seek moment On Wednesday we take a deep breath and seek moments of joy. What has brought you joy recently?

I'm mostly staying off social media (which has brought a sort of joy in its own way) but have also been escaping into stories, whether written by others or my own.

For today's stack, I give you a bunch of YA titles I highly recommend, all of which were also published before 2020 with the exception of ASHLORDS (January 2020). Definitely worth checking these out!

And it's Wednesday so writing update! It's NaNoWriMo so I'm slowly working through my new draft as well as my other project. Yesterday didn't go so well but easing back into it today. For daily updates, I'm posting on my personal account with a little mini challenge I put together for the month! Just visit @austinedecker!

Take a deep breath. Find your moments of joy. And have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday, friends.
