As promised, we have another color-themed list for you! And this month’s color is… pink! You may think that’s because romance is in the air this month, but really, pink is just my favorite color. I’m always looking for more books with pink covers (there. are. not. enough).
Don’t forget to stop back! We’ll be releasing a list each month featuring a different color. And as always, the books we include will be predominantly backlist titles (published in 2020 or earlier).
For the purposes of this list, we’re considering any book where pink is a dominant color, but other colors may also be featured.
Books with Pink Covers
Young Adult Fiction
First up is YA fantasy, two that I’ve read and two that I haven’t! Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh is one I haven’t read, but I’ve only heard great things about. Aditi Khorana’s The Library of Fates is another one I’ve been wanting to get to (it’s currently glaring at me from where it’s been sitting on my shelf for months now). Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne is one that I loved, it was so original and captivating! Amparo Ortiz’s Blazewrath Games is one that I would definitely recommend to young teens, and it’s full of dragons!
Now for some science fiction! First up is A Phoenix First Must Burn, an anthology edited by Patrice Caldwell (I’m not actually sure this one is entirely sci-fi, from what I’ve seen it may also be fantasy, but it definitely sounds amazing). For more traditional sci-fi, there’s Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie (I looove this cover!) and Navigating the Stars by Maria V. Snyder (I’ve not had luck so far with Snyder’s books but this one does sound good…). And if dystopian is more your cup of tea, there’s The Grace Year by Kim Liggett (I’ve only heard good things about this one and want to read it ASAP).
Next up: romance! With one horror book thrown in because… reasons. If you enjoy historical romance, there’s Jennieke Cohen’s Dangerous Alliance: An Austentacious Romance (I have not read this one because I didn’t know it existed but OMG I need this in my life ASAP!) and Melissa de la Cruz’s Alex and Eliza (another one I haven’t read, despite my years long love of Hamilton). For fantasy romance lovers, I highly recommend The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. And for those who are more into horror than a good love story, there’s Kiersten White’s The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein (this one may very well have a romance in it, I haven’t read it. But it does sound very fun!).
And last up for the pink YA covers, we have contemporary. Admittedly, this is not a genre a read much of anymore. There’s Jen Wilde’s Queens of Geek (I adore this cover), Casey McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue (I’ve only heard good things about this one), and Stephanie Perkin’s Anna and the French Kiss (I did read this one years ago and it was cute). Maybe you want some mystery mixed in with your contemporary? Then there’s Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig (okay, this does actually sound like one I’d have a lot of fun reading)!
Adult Fiction
Last, but certainly not least, here’s a little bit of adult fiction! If you like contemporary, there’s Kevin Kwan’s Sex and Vanity (I love love love Crazy Rich Asians so I can’t wait to read this one). For historical romance, there’s Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean (this one is on my TBR because I’m a big MacLean fan). If epic fantasy is more your thing, there’s N.K. Jemisin’s The Obelisk Gate (this is the second book in the Broken Earth trilogy, and I highly recommend it). If you want a shorter read, there’s The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo (a fantasy novella that I’ve heard is really good).

Book dragons love comments!
