20 Books with Green Covers

Posted March 13, 2021 by Austine in Lists

That’s right! It’s another of our promised cover color lists! For March, we thought green would be a fitting color (and it also happens to be one of my favorite colors so I’m super excited to be sharing this one!). This list features a collection of books I loved, ones I want to read, and a few others because of their gorgeous cover art.

Don’t forget to stop back! We’ll be releasing a list each month featuring a different color. And as always, the books we include will be predominantly backlist titles (published in 2020 or earlier).

For the purposes of this list, we’re considering any book where green is a dominant color, but other colors may also be featured.

Books with Green Covers

Young Adult Fiction

Today’s list is comprised of 75% young adult titles so if you’re a YA fan, you’re in luck! Starting things off are four books I really enjoyed and would absolutely recommend (and two of them aren’t even fantasy!).

Up first is Brigid Kemmerer’s A Heart So Fierce and Broken, the second in the Cursebreakers series. And while I enjoyed the first book, I think I liked this one even more! Following is another sequel, Storm from the East by Joanna Hathaway, a fantasy set in a World War II-esque world. Then we get into two mysteries that surprised me in all the best ways: Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco (seriously, I recommend the whole series!) and The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (definitely didn’t expect to love this one as much as I did and can’t wait for the sequel).

From here, I haven’t read most of these titles but they’re all ones on my list! Coming in near the top because I’ve heard nothing but great things is Roseanne A. Brown’s A Song of Wraiths and Ruin which I plan to read before the sequel releases this year. With a gorgeous labyrinth design is To Best the Boys by Mary Weber. And another with a stunning cover (really, the whole series is beautiful) is Roshani Chokshi’s The Gilded Wolves. Finally, we have the latest in the Hunger Games universe, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.

I’m pretty sure A.G. Howard’s Splintered has been on my TBR for ages so maybe this is the year I’ll finally read it! The same for The Unnaturalists by Tiffany Trent which is giving me all those lovely steampunk vibes. All the greens on April Genevieve Tucholke’s Seven Endless Forests definitely caught my eye, and you know I have to read A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir (such a good series!!).

Wrapping things up are two more from my TBR, Danielle L. Jensen’s Stolen Songbird and Wilder Girls by Rory Power, as well as one that was truly an unusual read but well worth it, The Cold is in Her Bones by Peternelle van Arsdale!

Adult Fiction

Then we have the (much shorter) adult section, starting with one of my absolute favorite romances, Well Met by Jen DeLuca (seriously, friends, this book is so flipping good AND includes a Ren Faire romance!). Following up is the beautifully crafted Jade City by Fonda Lee, and a romantic fantasy with some cool worldbuilding, The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk.

To close out this list are probably the two books with the least amount of green on them but I’m still counting them! First up is Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire (first in a fabulous novella series), and last is a book all about mercenary librarians, Kit Rocha’s Deal with the Devil!
